The research record
Three experiments. An evolving methodology.
Each Journey Lab tested a prospectively specified
framework version using synthetic organizational evidence,
independent analyses, and controlled comparison.
Findings were preserved rather than retroactively
rewritten to fit later revisions.
01 / FOUNDATIONAL EXPERIMENT
Journey Lab 001
Northstar Learning Solutions
Framework v1.0
The initial experiment examined whether independent
analysts could apply the framework consistently while
distinguishing meaningful organizational conditions
from ordinary operating activity.
The findings supported continued development but
exposed weaknesses in materiality thresholds and
the treatment of adaptive work. Conventional
analysis identified most of the same phenomena.
DISPOSITION: REVISE AND TEST AGAIN
02 / ADVERSARIAL REPLICATION
Journey Lab 002
Asteron Equipment Systems
Framework v1.1
The second experiment tested whether targeted
revisions improved analytical discrimination and
consistency in a different synthetic environment.
Several safeguards performed better, but analysts
disagreed about which organizational boundaries
merited registration. A shared false-positive
classification exposed another unresolved weakness.
DISPOSITION: FURTHER BOUNDED REVISIONS
03 / REPRODUCIBILITY TESTING
Journey Lab 003
Northstar Conference & Event Group
Framework v1.2
The third experiment challenged reproducibility,
evidence requirements, and classification boundaries
under another controlled synthetic test.
Several safeguards held, while consequential
disagreements remained around downstream
propagation, analytical relevance, and the
treatment of uncertain evidence.
